Coventry United Ladies - Butts Park Arena

The Butts Park Arena opened in 2004 and currently features one stand, known as the XL Motors stand for sponsorship purposes, with a capacity of 3,000 people and a number of conference and banqueting facilities. The West Stand, a temporary building that could hold 1,000 people, was demolished at the end of the 2005–06 season for health and safety reasons. Around the pitch, there is also standing room for up to 1,000 fans. It’s right next to the Butts bike track.

Butts Park Arena in Spon End, Coventry, England, is a multi-purpose sports arena. Its primary function is as a rugby stadium (both union and league). Coventry R.F.C. and Coventry Bears (who relocated there for the start of the 2004–05 season) have called it home since it opened. The Coventry Jets, an American football team, used to play their home games there. The stadium also serves as the home of Coventry United, a non-league football club, and its women’s team, who compete in the FA Women’s Championship.

How to Get to the Butts Park Arena

By Car

If you are driving your car to get to Butts Park Arena, you can either come from A444 if you are from the South or the A4114 if you are driving in from the North. Coming from either road, use the roundabout and enter the A4053 Ringway Queens. After entering the A4053, use the other roundabout at the Moat Street Car Park to enter B4101 Butts Road. Drive past the Premier Inn until you reach the ground entrance right across Esso MFG.

By Train

The closest rail station to Butts Park Arena is the Coventry Rail Station served by the National Express Coventry. Coming from the main station, the rail travels for 4 minutes to reach Hill St. From there, you can either walk to the ground or take the bus from the St Johns Church bus stop.

By Bus

Another way to get to the ground is through a bus. Fans can take the bus from the St Johns Church bus stop. It passes through Corporation Street, enters Queen Victoria Road and then turn to Croft Road before passing through the roundabout to enter Butts Road. This bus travels for around 3 minutes and drops passengers at the Spon End, Albany Road stop. The Spon End stop is the closest bus stop to Butts Park Arena. It is only a 3-minute walk away from the ground.

Where to Park

There are two places for fans to park their car in when they visit Butts Park Arena.

First, visitors can drive their cars into the Butts Park Arena car park from B4101. This car park is operational all week. The management recently announced that it will now enforce a Pay and Display policy at the car park, where the drivers have to display their tickets in their car when parked.

Next, visitors can also choose to drive up to Albany Road and park at the City College Car Park. Disabled guests can find reserved spaces immediately upon entering the grounds. They highly encourage all supporters to utilize the club’s parking lots because the stadium is located in a residential part of the city. Those who do not want to do so must park with caution and consideration for the requirements of nearby households and businesses.
