Also known as Bamber Bridge F.C Stadium, The Sir Tom Finney Stadium was actually previously known as Irongate Stadium before The Northern Premier League Division One North decided to rename it in honour of Sir Tom – who passed last February 2014 at the age of 91.
After the merger in 1974, the club played on King George’s playing field. In 1983 they bought a vacant lot to build their own property called Irongate, which is local to the area. It currently has a capacity of 3,000 and is currently the home site to teams like Bamber Bridge, Northern Premier League Premier Division, and the Blackburn Rovers Ladies – a rising star women football squad. The Blackburn Rovers ladies league are the latest ones to play home games on this turf this season.
The attendance record of 2,300 spectators was set in a friendly match against the Czech national team where the result was a 9-1 victory for the Czechs.
