On my first visit there last season i had read all the reports about no colours no pubs etc, but i gnored them. Went to the game in arsenal shirt had no problem in both harvester and frankie and bennys. Swansea fans superb and friendly. Hope this would be the same if we eventually beat them there though lol

Train takes you into central Swansea but be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium, alternatively a taxi from the station to the ground costs around £8. For the FA Cup tie we had the whole of the North stand to ourselves so the atmosphere was good. I would recommend drinking/eating in the concourse before the game starts, there is a lot of space there despite being a relatively small stadium and the prices are not bad at all in comparison to what we have to pay back in the capital. Never had to queue once in the vicinity of the stadium for either entrance or food/drink outlets, credit to the stewards at the turnstiles and those working round the stadium for their efficiency towards fans.

Its time to drop the bad reputation bit from this article. We don't have it any more and it has not been present since our move to the Liberty.

As for friendly pubs for visiting fans there is absolutely Frankie and Bennies and the harvester outside the stadium which away fans attend every game. Even the coopers and commercial nearby have regular away supporters with no bother.

Great trip to stadium. Our bus arranged a stop-off at a local rugby club about 15 mins from stadium. Good atmosphere, fair prices and away from the huge crowds we had been warned about at the harvester. Excellent start to the build up - shame the result spoilt it! I think it was Taibach RFC, highly recommended if that was the one (had a pie shop next door!).

My son lives in Swansea through his job and although I havent been there as an away fan supporting the reds, i've been to plenty of swans games as a Jack!! Swansea is a great city and my adopted second home and I cant praise the place highly enough with great people and generally a great atmospere. The stadium is modern and so lacks the feel of the old Vetch but the Jacks still create a very vocal support which creates a good atmosphere. When the Millenium Stadium hosted Cup Finals I have always stayed for weekends in Swansea with my mates, all reds supporters, and had some fantastic times in Swansea and was gutted when it went back to Wembley. The old timers will remember Jumpin Jacks wey hey what a jaunt that was and our favourite Guest House The Mansell has sadly gone too but we all loved ya Jane. If you can make a weekend of it do it, you wont be dissapointed. Great city, great people, great nightlife and some great Indian restaurants on St Helens Road!!

For starters, use junction 46 off m4 signposted Llangyfelach (2nd turning off roundabout) great little pub
called the Plough & Harrow, (100 yards up on the right hand side) no prob with away supporters, park the car for free,
room for around 60 cars, taxi to the ground around a tenna, the ground is expensively overpriced inside, but there's a chippie across the road and a kebab place across the dual carriageway, no problem with the home support, very friendly outside, partisan inside, great atmosphere thou, if you do get time to stay in swansea, the city centre's about a 2 miles away, great pubs in the wind street area or check out the Mumbles area for a great summer family return.

Many away supporters now use the 2 Restaurants inside the stadium grounds, The Harvester and Frankie&Bennys. Home fans use these also and they can get very busy but both fans mix well and and there is a good atmosphere. Ive been there every premier league home game so far with my son and every game I've talked to away fans.

Visited the Swansea on 2 occasions now,. first impressions are of a standard modern stadium with not too much in the way of character. The away section is behind one goal with plenty of room to house our 3,100 contingent. Got to say both times I went it was virtually a sell out & the Swans fans whip up a good atmosphere which helped their team to an impressive 3.0 win. (at least we only lost 3.2 last time!) Unfortunately due to the early kick off we saw little of the surrounding area before the game & after chose to make my way straight back home to Nottingham.
As it was a lunch time kick off it was a very early start , so expect a long day out in this neck of the woods!
