I visited portaloo road as a norwich fan 2 seasons ago and was extremely disappointed by the appauling atmosphere that was generated by the home fans. The concourses are way to small and not enough room to form an orderly queue. The ground looked like a complete and utter shithole.

If you support a London club do NOT drive. The A12 is a nightmare. It took me 3 and half hours to get to Portman Rd and another 1 and half hours to get out of Ipswich after the match. I now wish I caught the train then I could have had a beer which would have numbed the pain of losing. The atmosphere was great and the ground is excellent, esp. the view you get from the away end.

Me my wife and 10 year old son made a weekend of this trip and stayed in the Novotel in Ipswich, not a bad trip and very welcoming. The ground is very old but has been moderniised around all stands, you won't get any trouble here it's a very friendly family club. Got to say the stewards are very job's worth and match days are probably the only time they get to have some power in their lives, in fact they are the one's who make it kick off with the away fans... idiots..

Ipswich itself is a lovely place and very old (just like the Mrs) one thing that did surprise me going aroud the town is that you be lucky to hear a english accent so many Eastern Europeans... It's a shame we did'nt see the Ipswich of 30 or 40 years ago..
