We were staying at the Novotel London Excel for a conference, and were lucky enough to have a Tuesday night game at Charlton, enabling us to mix business with pleasure (and it was a pleasure to watch us win 2-1). Charlton train station was actually closed that evening which made things a little trickier to get to the ground - we ended up grabbing a cab there and back, which cost us around £15 each way.

We found a pub very close to the ground, which was pretty busy, with a good mix of home and away fans. I'm not totally sure of the name, but it might have been The Pickwick, as mentioned in the review above.

The atmosphere in the ground was pretty good, and no complaints about the view from our seats at all. We grabbed a quick Hot Dog inside the ground before the game, which was quite tasty - queues for drinks were far too long, so we didn't bother trying to get any.

The roads were well and truly gridlocked for about an hour after the game, so it might be an idea to duck back inside one of the pubs until things have quietened down a little - Although we caught a cab back, we saw that the trains out of Charlton station were very frequent - queues were long, but cleared quicker than by car.
