Came for the Evening game in the Johnstone Paints Trophy. We Parked over the Road at a very reasonable cost of £2.00 and then on the car park stewards advice, we had a good 5 minute walk to the Great Northern Pub. Was a good mix of Fans inside with a good old Fashioned Bar Maid.
After the walk back to the Stadium, We got onto the terracing behind the Goal , Which was slightly cramped but added to the atmospere. And i watched a decent game of Football with the Blades a slight lucky to come away with a 2-1 win. Unfortunatley all the singing came from the away support until Burton scored, there lead only lasted 5 mins , so it was back to the Super Bladesmen to provide the Vocals until the end. Only downer on an otherwise good night out was the catering. food was Bland and the Breadcakes were well past their sell buy date. But out of 10 i would give the experience a solid 8.5. Nice lower Division Stadium..

We came when we got promoted to league 1, i came with my dad and we won 2-0 it was a fantastic game, we played well. the ground looked incredible, the staff were friendly, the smell was nice, the fans were also very friendly. it had alot of atmosphere in the away end, if it was a bit bigger, it would be the best away day in all the country!!

I visited the stadium on 2nd November, of which was my second consecutive visit and both were ones to remember. They drafted in Derby County Stewards this year to help out due to the previous year was very poorly organized for the amount of Port Vale fans they were expecting.

The Bar on the ground was not open until after the time stated, this was due to Police and Stewards wanting to ensure that all fans drink responsibly prior to the match. There was around 100 fans waiting outside the turnstiles for 15minutes for the turnstiles to open, of which people who paid on the day entered the ground a good 5 minutes prior to people with tickets. When trying to enter the stand we were unable to enter the standing stadium due to large crowds in gang ways. it took some time to get all fans in and even resulted in many missing the first part of the match or end up in the seating ans were stand. There was large police presence and also use of video record I felt this was very over the top as all fans were very well behaved. At the end of the match the Stewards took the time making a decision again to let fans walk around the front of the stand to stop build up when leaving the stands.

On a positive great food selection and very reasonable prices, staff were also quick and pleasant.

Our last game of the season was at Burton, with a slight chance of us staying up if we won, and Barnet lost.
we sold our 2,500 allocation of tickets easily, and there was upto a thousand more town fans in and around the ground! we played poorly and didnt show up...
the policing and stewarding was poor, underprepared and weak, they were expecting a big turn out of town fans, and the stewards were clueless, making our fans look like thugs. fair comment, a few people were there to cause trouble, but the police and stewards aggravated and encouraged most of the confrontations.
the ground is miles away from the town centre, although free buses were laid on for us from the town centre.
considering the ground is new, i wasnt impressed with it, there was a distinct lack of originality or character, however we managed to get a good singsong on the go. the acoustics were good for that!
all in all amazing day out, but only because we have the best fans in the world!
UP THE MARINERS
WE WILL BE BACK
