I travelled to Villa Park with a large contingent of the 2800 Canaries fans to watch this enthralling game. Really impressed by the police escort given to the official away coaches both getting to and leaving the ground and stopping traffic to give us a clear passage through. This meant that we were back in Norwich by 8.30 in the evening.

Found a pub approx 15 minutes walk from the ground where away fans are made welcome, although they don’t serve real ale, they had a good range of beers and Magner’s on draught. From the ground, with the Doug Ellis stand on your left, walk down the road and you’ll see the Witton Arms and a Tesco store straight ahead, turn right there so that the Witton Arms is on your left and keep going past the park for approx half a mile and you’ll see the ‘Yew Tree’ on the right.

The home fans were only really singing when they were winning and enjoyed some good banter with them.

Top marks to the police and stewards on duty at Villa Park, as well as the home fans for making my first visit to an away ground in the Premier League a very enjoyable experience. Toilets and catering facilities were really good, though no alcohol available in the 'away'end. Can't comment on the legroom, as we were all standing for the entire match and didn't see any stewards actually amongst the fans.

a very old ground it was like something from the 16th century narrow staircases and there stewards wouldnt let us sing. No beer was served and to top it all off as we were getting back on the coach we were pelted with rocks, stones and bricks with not a policeman in sight it was a very enjoyable game but there fans took it too far.

Birmingham broad street is a short taxi journey away from villa park or the train is only two stops from new street . The ground is a good premiership ground the food is rubbish & the atmosphere is rubbish they think they are a big club shame

We went to Villa on Boxing day 2010. On previous advice we went to the Cap and Gown, this however is now known as 'The Witton Arms'. We did think that part of the pub was sectioned off for away supporters. We were charged £2 entry and directed around the side of the pub to the back bar. We were then told to move through to the main bar as it was getting extremely busy. On entering the main bar it was full of Tottenham fans. I assume that the whole pub is now for away fans on match days. This pub sits at the end of the road from the away end at Villa Park. If you turn around with your back to the turnstyles, go left and head towards a roundabout by the Aston Hotel and you will see 'The Witton Arms' on your right. It less than a 2 minute walk from the Away end. Good day had by all.

there is a venue open about 20 mins walk or if you want to catch the bus then it actually stops outside the villa ground and takes 5mins to get there.it is a friendly club welcoming all away fans to enjoy a drink before the game.i will consider all official club transport away fans and need to talk to thier representives of what i can offer them.there is ample parking spaces for coaches and cars alike.so if you want a nice drink before the game.remember unity club is the place to be.it has plasmas showing all games.

Tony, a fellow Rovers fan has said that away fans don't have a bar for alcohol at Villa Park. This is the case at most of the grounds I've visited around the country as an away fan. This doesn't in anyway discriminate, but prevents any possible trouble. The ground is a few minutes walk from Witton Station so you can travel to the outskirts of the city & park your car at a nearby station in one of the towns off the M42. Villa is like all London grounds (except Barnet) where public transport is the only thing to use & a lot cheaper too. There's also a a few shops selling food & snacks that are a hell of a lot cheaper than inside the ground

On a recent visit to Villa in the the carling cup second leg,We arrived at the ground on the official club away transport, there was 28 official coaches plus other private coaches and cars.We were about the 10th coach to arrive. We disembarked from our coach and went directly to the Cap and Gown.On arrival we were told the pub was full and no more would be allowed in.We asked a police man where else was available we were told to go to the ground and get a drink there.DONT FALL FOR THIS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT SELL ALCOHOL TO AWAY FANS???????????.Does this mean that when their fans go to away games they're not allowed to drink,OR is this discrimenation against away fans visiting villa??????
